Spirit House Collective (est. 2017) is a WOC-founded metaphysical community dedicated to spreading healing through the guiding pillars of diversity, inclusivity, accessibility, and education.

SHC wishes to highlight the teachings and magick of those who have previously been hidden from view while providing context that honors the planet and the land we live on. An ever-evolving collective, SHC is the sacred home to thousands of Seekers who are beginning, in the middle, and far into their spiritual awakenings. At SHC we hold one another through periods of isolation, discomfort, and fear, as our commitment to self and community deepens.

General Information

  • Spirit House Collective is inclusive of all genders. We ask that Practitioners please keep this in mind when addressing workshop attendees. If tips on non-gendered or inclusive language is needed, please feel free to reach out to us!

  •
Spirit House Collective is a space for adults only.

  • SHC is not able to share workshop attendee information with Practitioners for privacy reasons. Practitioners are invited to share their contact information if they would like to stay in touch with attendees.

  • When hosting a workshop with SHC, we ask that Practitioners be strategic with spacing out their offerings. There should be about two/three weeks between offering a workshop with SHC and offering the same workshop on a different platform or in a different space. This is to avoid oversaturation.

  • We ask that Practitioners be respectful of SHC’s time as well as workshop attendees’ time and remain on schedule. Please arrive promptly for your workshop and prepare for the maximum number of attendees so as not to go over the allotted workshop time.

  •
Aja Daashuur (SHC Founder) and/or 1-2 assistant “Moderator(s)” will be present during all workshops for facilitating purposes.

  • SHC does not permit free guest spots for Practitioners.

In-Person Workshops

  • Spirit House LA & Spirit House NY are private residences. For this reason:

    • Practitioners’ access to the space prior to the workshop is limited. We welcome Practitioners to arrive 30-45 minutes before their workshop to get acquainted with the space and set up.

    • The specific locations of Spirit House LA & Spirit House NY are not available to workshop attendees until after they purchase their ticket. Attendees will receive the address of the workshop they plan to attend in their purchase confirmation email.

    • We ask of Practitioners and attendees that no photos of the outside of Spirit House be taken and/or posted on social media. This is to maintain the privacy of the sacred space.

    • Out of respect for neighbors, no scream/yell release work is permitted. Alternatively, releasing into a pillow is accepted!

  • All in-person workshops are expected to run for two hours including introductory words and closing words. Three hour workshops are permitted upon request and are only conducted on weekends.

  • Please reach out for more info regarding certification courses at information@thespiritguidecoach.com

Online Workshops

hosted via zoom

  • SHC online workshops are run via the video platform Zoom. SHC will create a Zoom link via SHC’s Zoom account. Workshop attendees will receive the Zoom link for the workshop in their purchase confirmation email. The Practitioner will receive the Zoom link in the “Your Workshop Is Live!” email once the workshop is officially launched.

  • We ask that the Practitioner has the latest version of Zoom downloaded on their device and tested before the workshop is scheduled to start. We also ask that the Practitioner conducts the workshop from a place that has a strong internet connection.

Online Workshop Logistics

  • To get the workshop up and running, a Spirit House Collective Moderator will launch the Zoom meeting about 5 minutes before the workshop is scheduled to take place. We ask that the Practitioner also join the meeting at that time so the Moderator and Practitioner can connect and ground before letting in workshop attendees.

  • The “Waiting Room” feature of Zoom will be active. This means that as the Practitioner and the attendees click on the Zoom link to enter the workshop they will be placed in a “Waiting Room” where their video/audio is not connected with the workshop. The Moderator will see when the Practitioner or attendees are in the waiting room and will be allowing people to enter. This helps the Moderator keep an eye on attendance and helps them get necessary information to newcomers. Again, the Practitioner will be let in 5 minutes before the workshop is scheduled to take place before attendees.

  • All attendees will be muted upon arrival to cut down on background noise. For most workshops, attendees will remain muted as the Practitioner facilitates. If the Practitioner invites questions, sharing, etc. the attendees can unmute themselves although the Moderator also has the ability to unmute them if they need assistance.

  • Zoom has a “Chat” feature. This allows the entire group to send messages to “Everyone” or for individual attendees to send “Private Messages” to one another. The Moderator will drop logistical notes into the chat periodically. The Practitioner and attendees are encouraged to use this feature as well (ie. Practitioners could share journal prompts or their Instagram handle, attendees could ask questions or share experiences.)

  • Online workshops officially start about 5 minutes after the workshop is scheduled to begin. This allows everyone to get settled and for all attendees to join the workshop.

  • The Moderator will get everything started. They will go over a few logistical things having to do with the Zoom platform and briefly introduce SHC before passing it off to the Practitioner to conduct their workshop.

  • Throughout the workshop the Moderator will be available to assist the Practitioner or attendees with various needs. If the Practitioner needs to communicate something to the Moderator without the attendees seeing, they can message the Moderator in the chat with a private message. If there is a reason for an attendee to be removed from the workshop, the Moderator will be able to remove them.

  • At the end of the workshop the Moderator will wrap everything up by thanking the Practitioner, making announcements about upcoming SHC workshops and officially ending the call.

Recording + Documentation

  • SHC online workshops will be live-recorded for documentation and reference purposes. All registered attendees will receive a link to an audio recording of the workshop 24-48 hours after the workshop takes place regardless of whether they are able to attend. This is to accommodate those who are in different time zones or those who have scheduling conflicts. The recording link will be available for one week and will not be downloadable. If a Practitioner would like to opt out of this offering, please notify us before your workshop booked.

  • The Practitioner may receive an audio/video recording of their workshop but please keep in mind that SHC does not permit the sharing or selling of SHC workshop recordings beyond the original list of paid attendees.

Online Community Building

  • SHC is committed to creating an environment of connection and grounding via an online platform. This is sometimes difficult to do! We have compiled the following suggestions and ask that Practitioners implement some version of them into their online workshops depending on the size of the group.

    • We have found that with small groups (under 12 attendees) encouraging attendees to individually unmute themselves and briefly share their names, pronouns, where they are located and their intention for joining is a great way to ground and open the space.

    • For medium sized groups (13-33 attendees) it works well to have everyone share in the chat feature.

    • For large groups (over 33 attendees) it is nice to take a communal breath at the beginning of the workshop to allow for a stronger circle to form.

Length & Structure of Workshops

  • All online workshops are expected to run for one and a half to two hours, including introductory words and closing words.

  • SHC may reach out and request that Practitioners send over an itinerary of their workshop a few days in advance of the workshop and provide feedback. This is to ensure that the structure of the workshop fits the needs of the SHC community.

Hours of Operation & Space Parameters (Online)

  • The hours available to conduct online workshops are:
Weekdays: 5:30pm-7pm PT or 5:30pm-7:30pm PT

  • Maximum number of participants permitted for online workshops: 200 (depending on Practitioner’s comfort level)

Pricing & Payments

ticket cost

  • Online workshop prices start at $15 and usually do not exceed $40. In-person workshop prices start at $30 and usually do not exceed $60. SHC has found that these price windows are optimal for ticket sales. Please keep this in mind when deciding on the price and offerings of your workshop.

split of sales break-down

  • For online workshops WITHOUT a cap on the number of attendees, there is a 40 (SHC) / 60 (Practitioner) split of sales of up to $500 to the Practitioner. This means up to $500 per hour for an hour long workshop, $333 per hour for an hour and a half long workshop, or $250 per hour for a two hour workshop. **Start date 9.1.20

  • For online workshops WITH a cap on the number of attendees, please let SHC know what your hourly rate for a workshop is in your SHC Event Proposal and we will negotiate a rate that feels fair for both parties.

  • **Start date 9.1.20

  • For in-person workshops at Spirit House LA, there is a 50/50 split of sales between SHC and the Practitioner.

  • For in-person workshops at Spirit House NY, there is a 40/60 split of sales between SHC and the Practitioner with 40% going toward SHC and 60% going toward the Practitioner.

  • For workshops held off-site, sales splits are negotiable.

  • If there are multiple Practitioners leading a workshop, SHC will maintain its normal percentage while the Practitioners are responsible for dividing their percentage amongst themselves.

selling products at workshops

  • SHC reserves the right to determine what products can/cannot be sold during workshops. If Practitioners are interested in selling their own merchandise during their workshop, please reach out to SHC beforehand to discuss.

Practitioner payments

  • Payments are made on the 1st Monday and 3rd Monday of the month in the agreed upon manner between SHC and the Practitioner. Please send us your Venmo (preferred) or PayPal info prior to workshop commencement.

Marketing

ticket purchase

  • Workshop attendees will be able to purchase tickets via SHC’s event calendar. Workshops will be put up on SHC’s website at least two weeks in advance of the workshop date.

  • Tickets for in-person workshops will be available to purchase up until 10 hours before the workshop takes place. This 10 hour window allows SHC and the Practitioners time to prepare accordingly ie. channel, gather supplies, tweak the workshop schedule, etc. We do not permit “pay-at-the-door” attendees.

  • Tickets for online workshops will be available to purchase up until the start time of the workshop. If the Practitioner needs more of a lead time, please notify us before your workshop is booked.

SHC Promotion

  • Workshops are promoted in SHC’s newsletters. Promoting on SHC’s social media via Instagram posts and stories will be on a continuous basis.

  • We have worked very hard to develop our online community of over 15K followers and have developed a great sense of what appeals to our expansive family. For this reason, SHC reserves the right to use other images in addition to the bio photo provided by the Practitioner and to tweak/shorten copy provided by the Practitioner in order to optimize workshop promotion. Our number one priority is to bring healing to as many people as possible through having sold-out workshops!

Practitioner Promotion

  • Practitioners are required to post about their workshop a minimum of two times on Instagram and once in a newsletter to encourage engagement of their own community.

  • All relevant posts made before, during or after SHC workshops should be tagged @thespirithousecollective on social media in order to support SHC’s ability to further promote your work as a practitioner, share the workshop experience, and bring healing to the greater community

 Cancellation Policies

  • SHC permits attendee cancellations up to 24 hours before the workshop takes place. If an attendee does not notify SHC of their cancellation within this window of time the student will not receive a refund unless there is an emergency.

  • Attendees are not able to transfer or gift their workshop registrations.

  • If at 24 hours before a workshop there are less than four attendees signed up, SHC reserves the right to cancel the workshop.

  • If a Practitioner needs to cancel their workshop after it has been scheduled there is a $100 cancellation fee unless there is an emergency. If the decision to cancel a workshop is mutually agreed upon by both the Practitioner and SHC, the cancellation fee will be waived.

We look forward to working with you!
